It is really important that people who support the proposals make their voice heard

The Council’s formal consultation period ends on Friday 30 January and it is really important that people who support the proposals make their voice heard and let the Council know that they want this development to go ahead.

If you haven’t done so already, and you support the proposals, please email the Council’s planning department at planning@staffsmoorlands.gov.uk quoting the planning application reference number SMD/2014/0682.

Alternatively, you can write, quoting the reference number to Planning Services, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek, Staffordshire, ST13 6HQ.

Laver Leisure’s proposals will transform the former quarry site near Whiston, into an attractive and sustainable recreation facility open to site visitors and the local community. Moneystone Park offers 250 high quality lodges alongside a range of ‘country park’ style facilities to suit all ages, from cycling, climbing and other sports, to a network of nature trails, bridleways and footpaths.

The local community will also be able to take advantage of the swimming pool, spa, gym and accessible outdoor leisure offer. Around 250 new full time equivalent jobs could be created at the site, plus new jobs during construction and indirectly within the local area.
