You spoke, we listened

You spoke, we listened

Back in 2011, when we originally consulted on our initial thoughts and ideas for the site we received some useful feedback about the plans and comments about certain details.

Key changes

The holiday accommodation offer

We have decided not to provide a touring caravan area or Yurts as part of the scheme, as a result of community feedback.

Removal of Hotel/Youth Hostel

The updated plans do not include a hotel or a 40-bed youth hostel as originally proposed.

Removal of housing

We are no longer proposing any family housing as part of the project.

Reduction in the scale of development

The scale of the scheme has been reduced from around 650 to 250 lodges. The new scheme development is now largely contained in the former quarry working area of the site. Substantial green buffers will be retained between both Whiston and Oakamoor and the new Moneystone Park.

Highways and transport

We are aware that highways and transport is an important issue for local people. We have had positive discussions with the County Highways team with regards to this issue. As part of the planning application we have produced a Transport Assessment which demonstrates that even at peak holiday times, the local highways network has sufficient capacity.
